For more than 150 years a mighty oak tree soared above the savannah pinpointing the location of Oakfield Farm. This magnificent farm has a long standing tradition of hospitality.
The fresh water spring amidst the cottonwood trees behind the Chapel provided water for the community and was a popular stop over for weary guests travelling by coach from Potchefstroom to Pietersburg.
After 190 years the grand old oak was struck down by lightning but the garden still enjoys the shade from many trees planted more than a hundred years ago.
It has been a great privilege to develop this magnificent farm into what is now the leading wedding venue in South Africa. Since 1999 many of the old buildings have been restored and renovated to provide two magnificent function venues, conference facilities and of course the charming Chapel and the elegant Conservatory for our wedding ceremonies.
Oakfield Farm is famous for hosting weddings in a setting which can only be described as an African Eden. The beauty and tranquillity is matched only by the dedication of the staff to provide unmatched service and facilities.
On entering the gates guests at Oakfield find it had to comprehend that such peace and tranquillity can be found buried in the growing metropolis of Gauteng. Our vision is to preserve this timeless estate for generations to come.
